Jags' Collier shot, has life-threatening injuries (NFL.COM)


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier was shot and critically wounded outside an apartment building early Tuesday as he and a former Jacksonville teammate waited for two women they had met at a nightclub, authorities said.

Collier, 26, and former Jaguars defensive end Kenneth Pettway were waiting in a Cadillac Escalade when a gunman fired into the vehicle, said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Jefferson. Collier was shot several times, but it wasn't clear where he was hit.

Johnson, Anderson, O’Neal among Bengals vets cut (NFL.COM)

The Cincinnati Bengals terminated the contracts of five veterans not subject to waivers, releasing them to free agency Saturday: OT Willie Anderson; RB Rudi Johnson; TE Nate Lawrie; LB Jim Maxwell; CB Deltha O’Neal.

The team also waived seven other veterans in LB Ahmad Brooks, DE Antwon Burton, S John Busing, DE Eric Henderson, QB Jeff Rowe, G Nate Livings, and OT Dane Uperesa.

The Bengals waived eight rookies: G James Blair, DE Angelo Craig, LB Anthony Hoke, LB Dan Howell, RB James Johnson, WR Clyde Logan, WR Maurice Purify, and WR Mario Urrutia.

Rookie TE Matt Sherry (shoulder) was placed on the reserve/injured list, while WR Chris Henry was placed on the reserve/suspended by commissioner list.

Broncos trade Foxworth to Falcons (NFL.COM)

The Denver Broncos traded cornerback Domonique Foxworth to the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday for an undisclosed draft choice in 2009.
